Happy New Year!
It seems that the NRA contractors
are to move onto the site of Carrickmines
Castle tomorrow (Thursday, 2 January 2003)
and begin the planned destruction of the
site. The Carrickminders are still in occupation
and will do everything in their power and
within the law to prevent this happening.
There is a range of things which you could
do to help them:
1. You could contact as
many people as you know, asap, and inform
them of what is about to happen.
2. You could visit the site
as a gesture of your support: you can phone
the Castle site on: 087 9627 243; Bus no.
63 from Nassau Street brings you right to
it; An Post will deliver post to the site
if addressed to: Carrickmines Castle, Glenamuck
Road, Carrickmines [near Foxrox], Dublin
18.
3. You could bring something
to support the occupation (Note: Due to
the Carrickminders drugs ban they
cannot except alcoholic drinks as gifts).
Among the things needed are: Lights (Camp
lights the ones that run off a camping-stove
gas cylinder), Heat, a Stove/range, Insulation,
Candles (but no night-lights please); Coal;
087 Phone Credit, Newspapers; Internet Connection;
Phone Line, Electricity; Generator;Car batteries;
Plastic containers Tupperware; Dish
Clothes; Car Alternator (to make bike gen.);
Blankets Old Sheets (for banners); Candle
Wick; First Aid items for kit (Burn cream,
plasters, etc.); Socks; Office Stationary;
Biros; Printer Cartridges for LX1020; Paper;
